The holidays are upon us, and in just twelve days, 2024 will draw to a close. And as the year winds down, I—like many of you—am taking the next few days to celebrate the wins, rest and recharge, and reflect on the possibilities for the year ahead.
For my final article of 2024, I want to share reflections on why I started Style Sessions, the journey we’ve taken together, and a concept that breathes through every article I’ve written—and one that will remain at the heart of what’s to come in 2025.
When I launched Style Sessions, my vision was to offer a new lens for exploring the power of style and the art of dressing for leadership.
I knew this newsletter wouldn’t focus on tracking the latest trends, chronicling weekly outfits, or defining a universal work-life uniform—though there’s value in those approaches
Instead, my goal has been—and remains—to widen understanding through learning about the history of fashion, to inspire by illuminating the richness, expansiveness, and individuality of style, and to encourage the practice and journey of developing your self-expression—one that honors your story and legacy
This year, we explored themes that offered unique perspectives on the transformative power of style and the art of dressing for leadership.
Some of my favorite articles include Style Queen: Decoding Queen Elizabeth's Success, where we reflected on how her consistent and deliberate use of style cemented her as a global icon of leadership and tradition. In Style Evolution: How High Heels Became Feminine Icons, we traced the cultural journey of an accessory that has defined power and femininity across centuries. Through The Influence of Color in Your Style and Workplace, we examined the psychological and emotional impact of color in professional settings and how it shapes perception.
We journeyed through history in Togas to Trends: Tracing the Evolution of Fashion and Style, uncovering the threads that connect ancient traditions to contemporary trends. Read My Pins: Madeleine Albright’s Diplomatic Style showcased the storytelling power of accessories and how they become tools of influence and diplomacy. In 813 Madison Avenue: When Fashion Meets Legacy, we celebrated the enduring significance of physical spaces in fashion, highlighting their role as cultural landmarks. Finally, Style as Strength and Joy brought us full circle, reminding us that style is not just about aesthetics but also resilience, identity, and celebration.
Each of these articles is a reminder that style is a living, breathing expression of who we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re going.
As we conclude this year, I want to leave you with one concept woven into all the articles we’ve explored: the art of attention to detail.
Often, the smallest elements carry the greatest impact, transforming an outfit into a message, a piece of clothing into a story, and a moment into a lasting impression.
To illustrate this concept, I invite you to watch a video that delves into the intricate process of crafting a Chanel haute couture piece.

This behind-the-scenes glimpse reveals the dedication, craftsmanship, and meticulous attention where every detail is thoughtfully considered. It’s a testament to why such an outfit stands the test of time and feels as relevant today as the day it was created.
As the year ends, I invite you to reflect on the power of detail. These small yet meaningful touches are the essence of style—they tell your story, elevate your presence, and inspire leadership.
Thank you for joining me on this journey through Style Sessions this year. Here’s to a new year filled with possibilities, elegance, and impact.
